Dune Readers Book Club

We sometimes do other things than play Savage Worlds

Dune Readers Book Club

Postby SavageBull » Sat Nov 23, 2013 10:20 pm

So, before I have to relinquish my Geek card I must admit that although I've been a long time fan of the Dune movie, I've avoided reading the book until now.

But having just finished it (it was a much faster read that I'd have guessed, it moves at a pretty good clip and the text is not dense), I want to make geek-amends and rekindle a little of the salon style discussion I miss from school. So I'm inviting all of you interested to join me in a little informal book club for Dune.

I've posted a few observations so far. Feel free to chime in, post your own questions, and invite your Fremen friends.

You mean we don't have lifetime memberships??? :o I've been assuming, "Once a geek, always a geek." Now I'll have to figure out how to renew my membership.

Sorry Christopher -- it's been decades since I read Dune. I'd have to reread it to contribute anything intelligent to you discussion.
